CHIS has data on ethnic and racial groups underrepresented in most other health surveys: Latinos (including Mexicans, Guatemalans and Puerto Ricans), African Americans, American Indians and Alaska Natives, and Asians (including Chinese, Filipinos, Japanese, Koreans, Vietnamese, and South Asians).
CHIS is conducted in five languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese.
